Internet History Quiz

Ten questions about the web, tech and gaming history. How high can you rank?

How much do you really know about the web? Each round draws ten questions at random from a bank of internet, tech, and video-game history — first domains, first emails, dot-com crashes, famous acquisitions — and explains every answer as you go. Finish to get your rank, then play again for a new set.

The questions run from the early network that became the internet to the websites, apps, and games that followed. Some are about people (who sent the first email?), some about products (what was the original iPhone missing?), and some about the odd details that make the history fun, like what the first webcam was pointed at. Every answer comes with a short explanation, so you learn something even when you miss.

Questions are drawn at random each round without repeating inside a round, so playing again gives you a different set. Your best score is remembered for the current visit only; nothing is saved or sent anywhere. Want more? The facts section covers the same ground in detail, and the button on the homepage serves up single questions as you explore.
